The parking meter tokens have a $1.00/1 hour value when inserted into the Electronic Parking Meters. Use of tokens does not allow parkers to remain parked at a meter past the maximum time limit of the meter, so be careful not to promote extended stays at a meter.
Program Objectives
To provide a means for participating merchants to provide 1 hours of "free" parking for their customers, clients, and visitors by providing meter tokens for use in the electronic parking meters.
To establish a clear and consistent set of operating rules and procedures necessary to the operation of a parking meter token system for downtown businesses.
The Downtown Boise Association member listing will determine the definition of each business as retail or office.
Meter tokens may only be purchased by authorized businesses in quantities of 25 tokens for $25 dollars. Only business checks will be accepted.
Tokens are for customer parking only. Any violation may result in the suspension of the offending business's token privileges.
Participant Agreement:
As a participating business in the Parking Meter Token Program, I agree to comply with the program rules and procedures as listed above. I agree to assist in the promotion of the Downtown Public Parking System, the Parking Validation Program and the Meter Token Program and will allow my business name to be used in an Idaho Statesman display ad (subject to approval) promoting my participation in these programs.
