Weekday Employee Parking
Parking Services offers an on-street permit program in the area around the Assay Office (210 Main Street). The ParkBOI E-Permits allow permit holders to park in designated, on-street areas in downtown (See Map Below). Please note that these areas allow any vehicle to park for up to 1-hour without a permit. Because of this, a parking space is not guaranteed. Please refer to the map below for all of the areas where E-permit parking is permitted in the event that some block faces are full.

While these are not guaranteed spots, permit holders will be able to park in these areas all day. This program is intended to provide a low-cost parking option for downtown employees. Permit holders can also utilize the Elder Street Park & Ride if an E-Permit space is unavailable.
Due to the limited number of spaces, participants will be chosen at random via a lottery system that will occur every 6 months. Selected applicants will be required to pay $25 per month and register their vehicle prior to parking. This fee can be waived for active participation in alternative transportation. Please note that the permit will be your license plate number and there will be no physical sticker or hangtag. If an applicant declines the permit, or does not provide an on-time payment, another applicant will be chosen from the list.
Registration is open for the December 15, 2018 lottery, but applying now will also place applicants on a waitlist for any available permits. Click Here to register.
Bona fide carpool groups will not be subject to the E-permit lottery. Carpool groups must be registered through Share the Ride Idaho, please visit this site for more information and to find potential carpooler matches near you. In order to be considered a valid carpool 85% or more of total trips must have at least 2 riders. In the event that the shared trips drop below 85%, permit privileges will be revoked. Multiple vehicles may be registered to one permit, but only one vehicle may park in the E-permit at a time. Misuse or misrepresentation of carpooling will be grounds for the revocation of parking privileges.
A Twilight E-Permit is an electronic permit (that uses your vehicle’s license plate as a permit), that allows parking in perimeter areas after 3pm. This monthly permit is designed for downtown employees who work later afternoon or evening shifts. There is no lottery to limit the number of Twilight E-Permits, but additional permit sales may be limited based on parking availability. The cost is $15/month and allows parking in parking meters in zone 3 as well as timed zones (excluding loading zones and residential parking areas). Click here to register and for more information.
